Growing Up So Quickly

Where does all the time go! Katy’s now three years old; growing up already, and I can hardly believe that she starts pre-school in two months’ time and next September she will start school.

I’m so glad that I decided to take a career break. Before she was born I fully intended to return to work. Then while I was expecting her I was informed that my job was so unimportant that it could manage without me and didn’t need anybody to cover it for my yearof maternity leave(!) – and then time went by and we realised that, although we would miss my wages, looking after Katy was the most important job in the whole world.

So at the end of that first year I applied for my 3-year career break and it was granted (whereupon my job was advertised and filled), and I can honestly say that I haven’t regretted a single moment of being at home, and out and about, enjoying my little girl. I have been really privileged to have been able to share this time with her, and wouldn’t have missed a second of it for the world.

About Linda Weeks

About my life with the daughter I thought I'd never have - but I did, thanks to a wonderful anonymous egg donor, to whom I will be forever grateful. xx
