What a day!  We were out today, past Cambridge, one of our favourite places, as you’ll have probably realised, though we don’t go there that often, and we didn’t stop there today.  It probably wasn’t the best day for travelling as we had side winds and torrential rain in the morning, and then coming back we were held up in a queue for nearly two hours while a multi-car accident was dealt with in front of us on the M11 and didn’t get home until gone 9pm; luckily I’d left the cats their supper in their magic box, the food timer.

It makes you think – a few minutes earlier and we might have been involved in it.  We didn’t hear any reports of fatalities, so that was good, but even so it is quite a thought that life is very fragile.  And so are vehicles; though we might feel invincible while we’re inside them, listening to the radio and eating sweets and watching the world go by, there are only thin sheets of metal and glass between us and eternity.

Be careful everyone, please – better late than never is trite but true …

About Linda Weeks

About my life with the daughter I thought I'd never have - but I did, thanks to a wonderful anonymous egg donor, to whom I will be forever grateful. xx
