Quite chilly today, but a lovely sunny afternoon.  I have quite a bit of flexitime owing so I left work at 3 and came home.  I meant to do some housework but sat down first and caught some of “Cleopatra” on Film 4 with Rex Harrison, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, so started to watch that.  I didn’t finish it all though because it ended at 7.20pm!

Had some tea, and then made some grape jelly.  We had quite a few from our allotment, and our neighbour had grown some as well and couldn’t eat them all, so I’ve had a nice little boiling session and it’s all now setting in the jars.  It didn’t take too long to make because I’d already mixed it with the sugar and pectin and left it in the fridge overnight, and that helps it to achieve a quicker set the next evening than it does if I just boil/simmer everything up from scratch.

It will be lovely to have some in the winter.  The thing about jams and jellies is that in the darkest days it reminds me of summer and autumn sunshine.  Sun

About my life with the daughter I thought I'd never have - but I did, thanks to a wonderful anonymous egg donor, to whom I will be forever grateful. xx
